On Tuesday, 17th December 2024, 12 club members took part in the Sid Scott Trophy competition. The competition had been arranged for 12 players, who had put their names on the ‘sign-up’ sheet, but unfortunately one player was unwell prior to the competition and could not attend. However there was someone who was ready to step in to make the numbers even, so the competition was played between four teams, each with three players.
Teams were decided, as usual, by picking coloured tokens out of a bag. Each of the four teams played against all the other teams, and scored 2 points for a win,1 point each team for a draw, and zero for a loss, as usual.
After playing these games, the points were added up to decide who was the winning team overall. Only one team had won all of their games, so they were the out and out winners, the Green team. But losing one game put the Blue team into second place.
Winners : Green Team
Roger Gill, Kathy Marshall, Linda Stephens
Runners Up : Blue Team
Megan Laughton, Tony Sellick, Pete Stephens
