On Tuesday, 14th January 2025, 19 club members took part in the Chairman’s Day competition. The competition had been arranged for 20 players, who had put their names on the ‘sign-up’ sheet, - the largest number of competitors for any of this season’s games. Unfortunately one player could not attend because of transportation problems. Rather than change the whole set-up of the afternoon, the club Captain and Vice Captain chose to carry on with the 5 team format, but have one of the teams made up of three players instead of four, ( still bowling with eight bowls in total.) This team was decided by choosing one of the coloured tokens at random.
As usual, members then picked a coloured token each out of the bag to see which team they would play for. Each of the five teams played against all the other teams, and got 2 points for a win,1 point each team for a draw, and zero for a loss. Because of the number of teams, and the number of games that had to be played, it was a quite tiring afternoon for some, although each team had one session where they ‘sat out’ and did not play.
After playing all the games, the points were added up to decide which was the winning team overall. Only one team had won all of their games, so they were the out and out winners, the Purple team. But both the Blue team and the Yellow team came next, having won two games. So the second place team had to be decided by the total number of shots scored in the competition. Blue team had just one more than Yellow, making Blue the runners up.
Winners : Purple Team

Runners Up : Blue Team
